VE Day 80 8 May 2025

VE Day 80th Anniversary – A Message of Gratitude
As we mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, East Farleigh Parish Council wishes to extend its deepest gratitude to all those who served and sacrificed during the Second World War.
Eighty years on, we remember with solemn respect the bravery of the Armed Forces, the resilience of those on the Home Front, and the enduring spirit of communities that came together in the face of hardship and uncertainty. VE Day represents not only the end of a devastating conflict, but the beginning of peace, rebuilding, and hope.
This anniversary is a poignant reminder of the values that carried us through those dark days—unity, courage, and a shared commitment to freedom. As we reflect, we honour the legacy of a generation whose sacrifices have shaped the world we live in today.
We will remember them.
